Professional Liability: A Standard Of Care?
Many organizations and government entities call for security requirements development before construction of new facilities and renovation of existing buildings. These frequently require the conduct of risk assessments to develop security requirements and updates to modify the assessment. Could the risk assessment be interpreted by courts to apply to a firm's duty of care in negligence cases? Focusing on the conduct of risk assessments, the session will address the advantages and disadvantages of following any standard requiring a risk assessment and the impact on security professionals who participate in implementing the standard by performing a risk assessment.
