Since the military began prosecuting the Global War on Terror (GWOT),
police and security forces are in high demand. While they performed
their traditional duties in Afghanistan and Iraq, these forces also
assumed roles and carried out missions outside of their core
competencies. Other military specialties have been assigned roles and
missions normally conducted by police and security forces to cover
shortfalls. This presentation provides an overview of the outstanding
work done by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard
security and law enforcement professionals in the GWOT, and highlights
the challenges and lessons learned.
