Intellectual Property Issues in Turkey & the Surrounding Region

The Middle East, the Balkans, the Former Soviet Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States have become centers for intellectual property infringements and are involved in the production of counterfeit products ranging from pharmaceuticals to textiles. We will examine some of the legal issues involved in intellectual property enforcement and discuss steps to counter the production and sales of counterfeit goods. Through case studies, we will highlight successful private sector cooperation with law enforcement authorities in Turkey.
